Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 July 2026

These terms apply when you use ChatBotCV ("we", "the service") — as a candidate creating a chatbot from your CV, or as a recruiter asking one questions via a published share link. Using the service means you accept these terms. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data.

The service

ChatBotCV turns a candidate's CV (and, where supported, other uploaded career documents) into a chatbot that answers recruiters' questions using only what's in that content — see the Privacy Policy for what we store and why. We don't guarantee the service is available at all times, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

Your content

You keep ownership of any CV, profile export, or other content you upload. By uploading it, you confirm it's yours to share (or you have the right to share it), and you grant us a licence to store, process, and transmit it — including to the third-party providers listed in the Privacy Policy — solely to operate the chatbot for you. You can rename or delete your document from the dashboard at any time; deleting it removes its content and public link.

AI-generated answers

The chatbot's answers are generated by an AI model constrained to the content you uploaded. We work to keep it strictly grounded in that content and to have it decline rather than guess when the content doesn't cover a question, but we don't guarantee every answer is complete or free of error. Chatbot answers are not a substitute for verifying a candidate's background directly — recruiters relying on them to make hiring decisions do so at their own judgment, and we're not liable for decisions made on the basis of a chatbot answer.

Public share links

Publishing your document makes it reachable, without an account, by anyone with the link. You're responsible for who you share it with. We may rate-limit or throttle a published link to prevent abuse, and may suspend a link that's used to send abusive, illegal, or attempted prompt-injection input.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Account termination

You can delete your account and content at any time (see Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of it, including hiring or career decisions made on the basis of a chatbot answer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
